I'm the maker behind Clever Girl Creative. I was born in Hamilton, Ontario and currently live in Dundas with my dog Hans Gruber.

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual art but work as a librarian by day. I've been making jewelry for several years and have recently fallen in love with printmaking. I bring my fascination with history and the aesthetics of the past into my work - from visual references to the ancient world in my jewelry to the beauty of Art Deco hand lettering in my printmaking.  

Everything I make is handmade and each piece is unique and beautifully imperfect. My jewelry is hand hammered and wire wrapped - even the earring wires and clasps are handmade. My prints are hand drawn and carved into linocut before being hand printed onto tote bags (I can't take credit for the bags themselves). 

Why Clever Girl?

"Clever Girl" is the last thing the game warden says before being devoured by velociraptors in Jurassic Park. It's also the praise Hannibal Lecter offers to Clarice in Silence of the Lambs. Whether jewelry or  printed tote bags, I hope that my works convey significance beyond being pretty objects. Like the proverbial 'clever girl', underestimate at your peril.
